All Sierra Leone Social Impact Award categories are deliberately aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1–17) and key national policy frameworks, including Sierra Leone's Medium-Term National Development Plan (MTNDP) , the National Youth Policy, the National Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment Policy, the Education Sector Plan, the National Climate Change Policy, the National Health Sector Strategic Plan, the National Agriculture Transformation Agenda, the National ICT and Innovation Policies, and the National Peace and Social Cohesion Framework.

This deliberate alignment ensures that each award category directly contributes to specific SDGs and national policy pillars, making recognition not merely symbolic but development-driven, policy-relevant, and impact-oriented. By anchoring the awards in these frameworks, LEAD Sierra Leone ensures that honorees are advancing priorities that matter most to Sierra Leone's sustainable development and long-term transformation.

The Sierra Leone Social Impact Award (SLSIA) is a prestigious national recognition platform presented by LEAD Sierra Leone to celebrate outstanding individuals, organizations, and institutions driving meaningful social transformation across Sierra Leone.

The award serves as an independent platform for recognizing excellence in social impact, innovation, and leadership. It honors those who are solving pressing challenges, uplifting communities, and inspiring others to take action toward national development.

Nomination Process

Step 1: Nomination Submission
Anyone can nominate an individual, organization, or institution. Nominations are submitted through the digital nomination portal or offline physical forms. Self-nominations are welcome.

Step 2: Screening & Verification
The Secretariat conducts eligibility checks and completeness review. A Verification Subcommittee validates documentation and references. Ineligible or incomplete submissions are documented and archived.

Step 3: Independent Judging
An independent judging panel—drawn from civil society, academia, youth development, private sector, and media—assesses nominees using a standardized scoring rubric.

Step 4: Public Voting (Select Categories)
SMS and online voting systems complement judges' scores. Voting is capped and audited to prevent manipulation.

Step 5: Ethics & Compliance Clearance
The Ethics & Compliance Subcommittee validates results and ensures all nominees meet integrity standards.

Step 6: Final Endorsement & Announcement
Winners are formally approved and announced at the annual awards ceremony.
